Reunion
I am so grateful to jeff_b for getting this blog started and now he has allowed me to share in the posting. I have enjoyed hearing your comments on our worship together and hope that you will regularly check out this blog to find out what is happening saturday@hill. This month we are being treated by The Praise Team to a series of secular songs that make us reflect on our faith in and love for the Lord. This past weekend Paul Simon’s “Mother & Child Reunion” inspired us as we shared what a blessing it is to return to our heavenly parent and experience reunion and acceptance.
We have all experienced separation from a parent at some level in life (even at the age of four I could say this! The mall, the crowd, an announcement about a lost child, you get the picture.) No matter how far I strayed and no matter how complicated the situation became I have always been able to return to God confident of His love. I don’t know why I wait so long sometimes. Don’t doubt that God is capable of forgiving you and willing to redeem your life.
What helps you experience reunion with God?

Whats your Motive?

Sorry for the late post; kitchen remodeling took precedence over the weekend. John spoke of the choices we make or choose to make as we wander through this journey called life. Everyone is 'tempted' by the driver who cuts us off; the cashier who is checking us out too slow; the feeling that everyone is 'out to get us'.
How do we go about 'choosing' to turn life's frowns upside down?
How can we get God to help take that step back; and ponder these 'choices'?

Can I Get Some Help Here?

This evenings drama [thank you Steve Arn; Tina Miller and Paige Schreffler!] reminds us that even in times of trial; our most effective course is to give our worries to God. We've [Alisa and I] been struggling with our own 'course'; as work and its related prospects of relocation for us drift to the top; and then to the bottom; in an off again on again cycle of 'unknowing'...
I've prescribed to the notion of 'God will show us whats what...' and just assume that things will find their way. In due time.
What are you struggling with? What can you give to God?

Baby Steps

In the case you missed it; this evenings sermon was focused on spiritual growth. Each person has the ability to make 'incremental' changes that build our spiritual growth. Not being raised in a church [I only first attended at age 20; as my then girlfriend/now wife and her family did; so I kinda tagged along]; I've always felt I was playing 'catch up'...and in many ways still do.
But looking back, look how far I've come from where I started.
Jesus says it is a journey after all; right?
Do you sometimes feel that your personal growth doesn't measure up?
What kind of baby steps can you take?

Its a New Day: Saturday Evenings

It is with energy and enthusiasm that I welcome you to the
Worship with a Difference
blog site. The team appreciates you letting us gather feedback and begin to implement 'Christ-connecting' vehicles such as the one you see before you.
John, Jess and the praise team have some additional surprises in store this Saturday with some drama interpretations of scripture.
Don't miss it!
That said: What does 'meaningful' worship signify to you?
